Types of Lice:

1. Pediculus capitis - infection of the scalp
2. Pediculus corporis - infection of the body
3. Phthirus pubis - infection of the pubic area

Signs and Symptoms:

• Pruritus
• Nits fluoresce blue under Wood's lamp

Treatments:

• Permethrin shampoo or cream
• Sources of reinfection (such as combs, bed sheets, clothing) should be decontaminated
